Aims of Network
Forum Nokia Innovation Network is a dedicated cluster of selected Forum Nokia PRO university members with the aim to research, develop and deploy innovative mobile solutions together with developer companies, ISVs and other related industry players. The network focuses on applied research, proof of concept development, real world testing, rapid prototyping, and mobile systems and applications training and education. The network will enable scalable collaboration activities and foster innovation capturing and knowledge transfer between mobile developers globally.

About Nokia Innovation Network at Lancaster University
The UK’s Nokia Innovation Network hub is based at Lancaster University which is consistently rated amongst the top ten universities in the country. It is managed by Paul Coulton and Reuben Edwards and housed within InfoLab21, the international centre for excellence in ICT. The group at Lancaster has an international reputation in mobile applications research and have won a number of Awards for innovation.
Areas of Expertise
The group has experience in many aspects of mobile systems but is particularly renowned for its expertise in creating uniquely mobile entertainment applications across the range of environments such as QT, Maemo, S60, J2ME, Flash Lite, Python, WidSets (Helium script) and WRT. Many of their projects incorporate the paradigms of Web 2.0 such as collective intelligence, user generated content, perpetual beta, the long tail, open standards, etc.
